Introducing the Monster Users Group for Government (MUGG)

At the March 18th Monster Government Solutions Breakfast Seminar, Brent Pearson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Monster Government Solutions, presented an overview of the highly-anticipated Monster Users Group for Government (MUGG), a unique collaboration platform for Federal Human Capital managers.
According to Mr. Pearson, the objective of MUGG is to “Create a forum for Monster Government Solutions’ customers to promote best practices and thought leadership in Human Capital Management.” Membership in MUGG will be free, and all Monster Government Solutions customers are highly encouraged to join. MUGG’s mission will evolve and grow over time, with an initial focus on three primary areas:
- Networking. Regular meetings, initiatives, and communities of practice will provide opportunities for members to interact and share ideas.
- Education. Use of various communication formats – such as a Web portal and an e-newsletter – combined with access to Monster Government Solutions and customer subject matter expertise will promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Influence. MUGG members will be given opportunities to influence the management of Human Capital on a number of levels using a variety of tools. As an example, a QuickHire product influence group will be created to provide input on QuickHire product direction.
During the month of April, Monster Government Solutions will be working with a group of customers who have expressed interest in forming a MUGG Steering Committee, which will create a charter and oversee the implementation and execution of MUGG. Initial members include Karen Christensen of the General Services Administration, Essie Wright with the Department of Health and Human Services, Carolyn Collins at the Treasury Department, Dinah Griggsby at the EPA, and Kate Mercer at the Internal Revenue Service.
Although MUGG will be largely a self-driven organization, Monster Government Solutions will create and maintain MUGG’s portal and support infrastructure, and will also contribute expertise, sponsor events, and host meetings as appropriate.
Stay tuned for more information about MUGG and instructions on how to join. Suggestions or comments are welcome and should be directed to mugg@monster.com.
